In ‘Upscale Tv Ep1 – State of the Medical Cannabis Industry’, host Tim Strombel sits down with special guests Steve DeAngelo and Dale Sky Jones to find out the answer to two important questions. First, what got the medical cannabis industry to the point that it is today. Second, where is it going in 2016 and beyond.
Interviews – State of the Medical Cannabis Industry
Steve DeAngelo, Founder of Harborside Health Center and Co-Founder of The ArcView Group, is the perfect guest to talk about the history of the medical cannabis industry and the road it has had to travel to get closer to mainstream society than the industry ever has before.
Steve discusses how he has seen the industry evolve and how two of his businesses, Harborside and The ArcView Group, had two totally different paths to success. Also, Steve gives us a peek behind the curtain of his new book, ‘The Cannabis Manifesto‘. When looking for a cannabis legend to get you started off on the right foot, one needs to look no further than this legendary activist.
After talking with Steve, Tim sits down with Dale Sky Jones, Executive Chancellor of Oaksterdam University, the first and most accredited medical cannabis education university on the planet. Dale is a master of cannabis policy, so she was the perfect choice to discuss where this industry is headed in 2016.
Dale shares what to look for in upcoming legislation. Years ago it was exciting to simply see ballot measures up for vote. Now that the measures are more abundant, it is more important than ever to pay attention to the phrasing of each proposed legislation. As Dale says, “It is important that we created a legal California market that isn’t perfect for anyone, but works great for everyone.”
In Episode 1 of Upscale TV, host Tim Strombel addressed DEA leader Chuck Rosenberg’s comments that ‘the medical cannabis industry is a joke’. Sure, anecdotal evidence and satirical comparisons might have done the job here.
However, Tim took it one step further and hit the streets of Downtown San Diego, one of the most conservative parts of California, to see what the real people thought about Rosenberg’s comments.
Overall, 2015 was not a fantastic year for cannabis stocks. However, the sources we have talked to are optimistic that 2016 will be a turning point in this market and so you can expect continuous updates on where the market is headed.
In the first update, Tim shares a brief recap of some 2015 action before discussing what might be the catalyst for change in 2016. I’ll give you a hint, most of the great action in 2016 is expected to come from north of the border.
